8 The Spirit of the Border book Zane Grey, The original published date is listed as 1906 but this edition is undated and estimated printing date from 1938 – 1945. 293 pages Zane Grey used his ancestor’s journal (Colonel Ebenezer Zane) as background material for this book. First free endpaper has been cut out, binding is in tact with no loose pages but the threads of the covers are showing, the spine has been stained and is worn (see photo) as are the covers, there is no writing on the pages
